1st IRON Sherpa Tournament of the Year

Join the IRON Sherpa Discord!

IRON Sherpa is back for 2022! The first event we’re organizing is an online PC tournament called IRON Sherpa Orbital. It’ll be Tekken of course–this Saturday, January, 22nd. Starts at 3pm.

Next week, we’ll have another online Tekken tournament for X Box that we’re calling Sherpa X.

Watch both on the twitch channel, www.twitch.tv/triplevictory.

Both Orbital and Sherpa X are intended to be monthly tournaments, so if you can’t make this one, be sure to compete in the next ones. We have some prizes and prize money, check out smash.gg for details.

As of today, Orbital has a field of ten competitors: anti-Hirro, Osserva, neosloth, Maeve_Brunhild, sakuyaFM, PitVyper, ArmaKu, RingQueen17, Jermanji, and PhiDx.

Yourthatrussian is the TO, with 8th and martymakesart possibly on the commentating.

Yourthatrussian’s Fight Stick Picks

After much deliberation, yourthatrussian, and myself, coach, have elucidated the best fight sticks in his collection. We have an array of magnificent devices including the HORI Rap 4, the etokki Omni, qanba crystal, the mix box, and the Victrix Sagat Pro Fs.

The first stick to discuss is the HORI RAP 4. According to russian, the HORI, being one of his first controllers was definitely a beginner stick but a door opener. It had all the important parts for a starter lever with good spring and good tension.

Regarding the etokki Omni, it has a full metal case and uses only premium buttons. Russian likes how the stick is easily mod-able and its “k” lever is much better and precise than the “j” lever, since it uses micro switches and a rubber grommet instead of a gate switch and spring.

With the mix box, he wasn’t too keen on using the directional buttons.

The qanba is high quality stick, but is in the reserves since most of his game play is with the etokki.

I also have a set of arcade sticks, including the Victrix, which I find ergonomically designed and logistically convenient with its cord organization and handles built in. Unfortunately, the Victrix appears to be out of stock.
